Monthly Roundup – June 2024
ISL Services Roundup
ISL clients and staff have been working hard on their garden spaces and veggie growing programs to support a strong sense of community in services and to also support in house health & wellbeing programs. Clients and staff have been gathering for the Euros and also celebrated other summer initiatives such as Pride month. Health and wellbeing days, and several charity events have rounded off a very positive June.
Alsager Supported Living Service:
Alsager have been getting their creative hats on and making designs for the Alsager Music Festival. Clients & staff also created a Pride wall in their communal. A local organisation shares varying forms of animal therapy and has begun regular visits to the Alsager clients.
Blackpool Supported Living Service:
Blackpool clients and staff have been enjoying the Euros with socials and decorations in the communal. The team and clients have also been making the most of Blackpools famous summer entertainment and enjoying the pier.
Crewe Supported Living Service:
Crewe have been enjoying bake off challenges at the Crewecial cafe and also staff and client karaoke sessions. Crewe music groups and music lessons by Deputy Manager Aimee have been going very well. Crewe are also preparing for their challenge couch to 5k created by ISL Coach Sean. This event will be launched soon to raise funds for local charity partner Chance Changing Lives.
Kendal Supported Living Service:
The Kendal service garden space was created with a strong community element supported by local charity partner and project Give A Day To Kendal.This summer the garden has flourished with the consistency of client and staff dedication. Vegetables grown will be used for healthy recipes at the service. Clients have been enjoying plenty of socials and game activities as a group in the communal including their Giant Connect 4!
Leeds Chapel Allerton Supported Living Service:
ISL Chapel has been busy getting creative in their activity groups, making meals with herbs grown right here in service. This has helped with teaching clients the importance of being sustainable and ways to save money. This has also supported the Chapel health & wellbeing program with healthy recipes. Another new popular group is the Friday film club, having a positive turnout week after week.
Leeds Halton Supported Living Service:
Staff and clients at our Leeds Halton Supported Living Service hosted a fun day featuring a tombola, garden mini sports day games, and healthy recipes from our ISL Coach Sean. The fun day raised £104 for local charity partner Equine Pathways UK! Clients have also been enjoying working with and adding recipes to the cooking and baking book.
Leeds Gildersome & Pudsey Supported Living Service:
Clients at Gildersome and Pudsey have been enjoying the new featured Virtual Reality headsets. This has improved client confidence and clients are interested to explore ‘real life scenarios’ to improve their life skills and resilience. Client JC has setup a ramblers group to support client wellbeing and he is growing in confidence. Regular art sessions, garden projects and outings to adult learning disability disco have been features of June.
Macclesfield Supported Living Service:
Clients and staff at our Macclesfield service had a fun day of cricket as part of their health & wellbeing initiatives. Lots of weekly walks and Zumba sessions have also been part of June activities. Gandeys Circus was in town and a fun day out for clients as well.
Stoke-on-Trent Supported Living Service:
Our Stoke-on-Trent Supported Living Service have been focussing on wellbeing programs, group walks and gardening. Positive quotes have been placed around the communal and clients have added their artwork to it, we have a painting of a blue tit by Coyney client AS. Clients have also grown some beans and tomatoes in their communal window and these are ready to be planted out this month!
Clients & staff have been enjoying the Euros celebrations in the communal. Client DG, who is a big football fan, has been our designated fixtures updater, he has updated after every match without fail!
Tranmere Supported Living Service:
Clients & staff at our Tranmere Supported Living Service partook in the Wirral Coastal Walk organised by the Rotary Club and had a great day all round.
£259 was raised for local charity partner Stick ‘n’ Step!!
Regular Strolling Club and local walks have been part of the health and wellbeing program in June.
York Supported Living Service:
In York, our steps challenge for staff versus clients is still going strong and keeping York in good shape. A trip to Wembley for the Rugby Final was a brilliant day for one client and manager. 8 clients came on the group trip to Scarborough featuring amusements, fish & chips, beach football, and much more. York have also been enjoying a Euros BBQ day for England games.
