Chris
I live at ISL supported living.
Before I came here I was in Rehab. I moved to ISL in Nov 2017 and didn’t really make any progress at first as I had a bit of a drink problem and was using drugs. I kept getting myself in trouble and got arrested. ISL staff supported me through this and I started a community drugs and alcohol program with the local services. Staff would accompany me to the groups to give me support and even joined in the group discussions this made me feel at ease. Since then I have begun to manage my mental health in a much more positive way and have not used drugs or drank alcohol for nearly a year. They have supported me to enrol on a college course which starts in September as I have decided I would eventually like to become a Psychiatric Nurse the staff have given me confidence that I can actually succeed and have encouraged me to be the best I can be.
